Absolutely, there will be deficiencies in the educational sector and youth empowerment in terms of sustainability.
Before COVID-19 some less fortunate kids were not schooling already due to financial deficiency faced by their parents and even themselves (particularly in Africa).
So with the outbreak of this noble disease that is causing many parents and youth to be jobless and even causing an extreme decline in their businesses as the result of them staying home (as recommended by health practitioners including WHO) as a means of curing or preventing the Coronavirus from spreading and distroying lives for months, how can less fortunate children like ophans manage to get back to school?
Many disadvantaged youth that were responsible to have themselves supported for education through their businesses are now strangulated financially.
So with this condition, how can us (youth) and national and international stake-holders, NGOs and Governments help to recover this challenge and have lives to normality?
I belive if attention is not given in such area, the world might experience these situations in post-Covid-19 period:
- The increse of teenage pregnancy– because many girls will drop out of schools and get into businesses or unprotected sexual hobby to make living
- The increase of crime rate in the communities — Jobless youth will have nothing to do.
- High illiteracy rate in the society…
- Declined states’ economies with already increasing poverty — many industries, companies will colapse
